Ash Lane

I founded Cedilla Studio to publish the kind of typefaces I'd been making privately for years — letterforms with a point of view, designed for brands that don't want to look like everyone else.

Before Cedilla, I worked across graphic and type design for 15 years, producing bespoke custom typography for clients including Nike and Vans, alongside editorial and publishing work. I hold a BA (Hons) in Design for Publishing from Norwich University of the Arts — a programme that shaped how I think about type as a system, not just a surface.

I write here about typography, type design, and the messy, opinionated process of making letterforms that have something to say. If a font in our store catches your eye, there's a decent chance there's a story behind it on the blog.
